Since it's gonna be an online class, a tablet is a must!

But what???

Even now, you find it hard to look for the most affordable tablet that with acceptable quality?

With a short budget you know you can't afford to buy a mediocre one.

After all, it's still on a Covid-19 day and every penny is important.

I got you with this.

I know that you have searched online already, you have talked to different parents, you have searched outside on to local shops but still...

I understand.

That is why I have worked my butt out this weak to make sure I can give you the best advice.

Yeah, this advice is from mom to moms, parent to parents.

7 Hardware Features you must Lookout before Buying

Before you jump into buying any of my recommendations below, take the time to read this.

I have used this as a parameter in each of the tablets below.

I include this because we're all not that techy!

Use this to choose wisely because our money is important and our kid's learning is ultra-valuable.

So you've got to look for a...

  • Processor: At least 2.0 GHz for better performance
  • Screen Size: 7 to 10 inches but 10 inches is recommended for kids to read their lessons online.
  • OS version: Android 5.0 and 5.1 lollipop are the most popular.
  • Random Access Memory (RAM): 512 MB is good to 2 GB memory preferably with SD card slots that support up to 64 GB
  • Internet and WiFi Support: 3G supported version is preferable.
  • Battery Strenght: 3000 mAh power for up to 10 hours of use.
  • Camera and Video Recording: 720 HD or Full HD video recording for their projects.

#1. Hoozo Android Tablet

  • Processor: 1.3 GHz
  • Screen Size: 10
  • OS Version: Android 8.1 Go
  • Random Access Memory (RAM): 1GB
  • Internet and WiFi Support: Wi-Fi+3G
  • Battery Strenght: up to 5 hours 6,000 mAh

Would you like to know why students love this?

It has an upgraded System and it's GMS certified so you can be sure that it runs fast, stable, and very responsive. You can download applications without a glitch.

The big screen is large enough. Good for kids with some vision impairment. Absolutely perfect for reading.

They can also enjoy brilliant and vivid colors. Excellent for taking photos, shooting, and video calls which are part of our kid's online studies.

Its internal memory is enough to install many apps.

Not only that, but you also don't have to worry about setting-up, it's super easy.

I put this as my first choice for my kids because it gains good reviews from the students' users.

I won't lie though, this tablet is NOT Windows 10 compatible so you can't transfer photos from your computer to the tablet and vice versa.

Another thing is you may encounter some problems with the battery's life.

But other than this, you can find this tablet a really valuable for your kids.

If you can find one in Lazada or Shoppee here in the Philippines go for it but if there's none, no worries, Amazon can ship this to our country.

#2. Vankyo MatrixPad Z4

  • Processor: RK3326, 64-bit 1.5GHz Quad-Core Cortex A35
  • Screen Size: 10
  • OS Version: Android 9 Pie
  • Random Access Memory (RAM): 2GB
  • Internet and WiFi Support: Wi-Fi+3G
  • Battery Strenght: up to 8 hours

You might notice that whenever we are spending so much time in front of our devices, our eyes get blurry, right?

Our kids feel that too considering that they are spending most of their waking hours in front of their tablets or iPads.

Vankyo can help relieve that. It has an extra-feature called Eye-Health that automatically adjusts and optimizes the backlight for a more comfortable nighttime reading.

Imagine how helpful this can be.

Not all tablets have this feature at this very low price.

Other benefits you can get are its fast and seamless performance, huge space for keeping photos, quick apps launches, full access to Google play, strong battery support, bright display and vivid colors, and the robust sound which is just perfect for listening to music after a long and tiring study time.

Its operating system is the Native and latest Android OS - Android 9 Pie.

But of course, I will not let this product review pass without saying the disadvantages of using this tablet.

Well, despite the promise that this is light, well it's kinda heavy.  You need a Tablet Stand if you don't want to experience hand numbness from prolonged holding of the device.

Another thing is the sound is weaker from the speaker, you will need high-quality earbuds for this.

Again, you can check if this tablet is available locally from your favorite online shops. But if you can't find one and you're afraid to get a second-hand or assembled product, then try to order from Amazon.

They will ship this product to the Philippines.

#3. Fire 7 Tablet

  • Processor: 1.3 GHz
  • Screen Size: 7"
  • OS Version: Fire OS/Android
  • Random Access Memory (RAM): 1GB
  • Internet and WiFi Support: Single-antenna dual-band wifi. Supports public and private wifi networks or hotspots that use the dual-band 802.11a, 802.11b, 802.11g, or 802.11n
  • Battery Strenght: up to 7 hours
Ever wonder why this is always included in the reviews of the cheapest tablet to buy?

Well, it's really affordable. If you have three or more kids, you can buy for all of them.

This is light, slimmer, and feels nice to hold. A great advantage for kids who carry their gadgets everywhere (yeah, even in the comfort room!).

What I like here is the Blue Shade feature that you can easily turn on and off or lowered down using the top drop-down menu.

What is that Blue Light and what it does?

To put it simply, this light can help us boost our moods and attention. It's more beneficial during day time when we are typically working.

However, at night this presents more harm. It can affect the circadian rhythm, our body clock, which can make us suffers from lack of sleep.

Let's make sure we put control over our kid's use of their devices because research shows that this can be a contributing factor for cancer, diabetes, heart disease, and obesity.

"Harvard researchers and their colleagues conducted an experiment comparing the effects of 6.5 hours of exposure to blue light to exposure to green light of comparable brightness. The blue light suppressed melatonin for about twice as long as the green light and shifted circadian rhythms by twice as much (3 hours vs. 1.5 hours)." Source

Having to control the blue rays then, using the Blue Shade Feature of this tablet is best for our kid's health.

Now, for the things that you will not like.  It has a low and unpredictable battery. The tablet sometimes overheat and you can't access Google Play for your favorite apps.

This is basically for Amazons E-reader hence, the applications that you can use here mostly comes from them.

You might also get irritated with the number of Ads showing on this tablet.

Still, for only a $50.00  or Php 2, 4019.00, this is a tablet worth considering.

  • Processor: 2.0 GHz
  • Screen Size: 8
  • OS Version: Fire OS/Android
  • Random Access Memory (RAM): 2GB
  • Internet and WiFi Support: Dual-band wifi. Supports public and private wifi networks or hotspots that use the dual-band 802.11a/b/g/n/ac standards
  • Battery Strenght: up to 12 hours

Down to my fourth choice.

This one is just an upgraded version of the Fire 7 Tablet.

You would love the all-day battery life plus, you can fully-charged this tablet in just 5 hours. Perfect for my youngest kid who can't wait for his tablet to charge.

This is the big version of the Fire 7 Tablet with more storage and a bigger screen.

It runs fast, also very responsive, portable, and great for reading which is why it's made by Amazon.

And there's more... it's perfect for drawing also if you have a child who loves to draw.

Now for some disadvantages, well, you can still see Ads on the lock screen. There are also times when the screen glitches and the speaker is really weak.

This seldom happens 'though so, I could still recommend this tablet for kids who's parents buy gadgets within budget.

#5. Lenovo Tab M8 Tablet

  • Processor: 2GHz
  • Screen Size:  8"
  • OS version: Android™ 9 Pie™
  • Random Access Memory (RAM): 2GB
  • Internet and WiFi Support: Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (2.4/5 GHz)
  • Battery Strenght: 1 Lithium-ion batteries required.
Last but certainly not least!

When you buy this, I am certain you won't return this inexpensive product.

It's reasonably of high-quality build with extremely acceptable performance and features.

The battery lasts longer at approximately two times as compared to other tablets' battery's life.

Your kids will love it!

It holds speedy Wifi.

You can access all of your media contents online and offline.

Light and easy to carry.

And what you might like most is the full metal cover. It's not only for sophisticated looks, it's more for the protection of your Tablet when you drop it unintentionally.

For the not-so-good, the camera has no flash, not a big deal if you're not fond of taking selfies.

I highly recommend this for your kiddo's.

How to Properly Care for your Tablet to Make it Last?

Let's mean it!

We have chosen the cheapest tablet for our schooling kids and the challenge now is how to make it last long.

I have here 10 best tips to properly care for your tablet.

If you do this, your child will enjoy using their tablet for the longest period and you can save more money aside from getting the best value out of your spending.

You should...

1. Keep it away for direct sunlight.
2. Store it away from heat sources like radiators and stove.
3. Always carry it in a case.
4. Use a screen protector.
5. Avoid dropping your tablet.
6. Keep it safe from water.
7. Charge it fully ONCE a month. Charge it to 100% and let it drain to zero.
8. Don't overcharge your tablet.
9. Keep it clean using a soft cloth. Tissue and other cleaning materials can scratch and damage the screen of your tablet.
